This fabric is the Black x White version of AS016, the lighter-weight counterpart of AS023. It uses the same warp yarns as AS016, with thinner weft yarns to reduce overall weight. While it shares the same character as AS016, the thinner weft makes the white weft threads less visible on the surface, giving a subtler grin-through effect.

Uneven yarns with subtle slub character are used in both the warp and weft, creating a natural crosshatch texture. The warp is dyed in a sulfur black with a moderately deep tone, giving the fabric a slightly softer black color. A higher warp yarn count produces sharper right-hand twill lines, giving the fabric a diagonal structure reminiscent of vintage denim.
